OLD SWIMMING POOL FILTER PLANT

The Filter Plant which dates back more than 75 years was made by a Company called “Candy Filters Ltd” in England. It was supplied through their Indian Office Candy Filters (India) Pvt Ltd.

The Filter is a conventional one where the dirty water goes through a “plate which has multiple sieves”, these are made of gunmetal.

The plate is filled with river sand brought in from Chennai. The water flows through the river sand which is agitated inside the Chamber and the impurities stick to the sand particles. The clean water goes into a chamber after passing through the little fountain next to the Swimming Pool. The water through the Fountain provides oxidation.

The valves after 7 decades have given way and are now replaced. Because of its age, the efficiency of the Filter has reduced. It still works!!
