Chest of Drawers

This simple wooden table was meant to be used by the accountant when account books were long narrow books.

The top portion is slanted to facilitate writing ease, with a flat plank containing two recesses to hold ink pots and a horizontal recess to hold writing quills or pens.

This simple table has a set of hinges which open into the inner compartment, its 3 inches deep and 24 inches long.

All these wooden items dated more than 100 years are now being carefully repaired and varnished to its original glory.
